Exoro Events with Exoro Choice released a new epic comic series - VAST CANVAS and it was launched at Summer Komikon 2012, Bayahinan Unilab Pasay City Philippines on May 26, 2012. Komikon event was dedicated to all amateur and professional comic artist in the Philippines.
The event was a full blast of fun and excitement! For a Php 100 entrance fee, you can already fill all of your comics cravings, a chance to meet your favorite comic artists, grab the latest comic books, and challenge your art skills. There were special guests: Mark Millar of Marvel, Heubert Khan Michael of Unstoppable, Elmer Damaso of Cat’s Trail and Freely Abrigo of Kulas. Some local and international celebrities were there as well to promote comics like Mr. Dingdong Dantes and Ms. Lovie Poe. Manila Bulletin held a contest - On The Spot Comic Creation Contest and other amazing contests like Cover Recreation Contest and the Flipreads-Komikon-24-hr-Komixathon.
What excites us most about the event? Vast Canvas Summary
Year 2117, one of the most famous design companies hosts a contest for all artists around the world. Using their advance technology, they setup a virtual island inside a huge convention center and give the participants their special Sketchpads and tools. These tools, with the help of a special headset, enable the artists to turn their drawings into life and battle other artists’ creatures within the area of the island. Not only do they need to battle other artists, but they also have to survive their own forms of art blocks. With creativity and passion as their main weapons, who among these artists will survive this contest?

Name: Millian Hugh
Color: Vermilion
Age: 16
Millian enjoys drawing very much and he’s been drawing since he was a kid. He draws for the sole reason that he loves doing it. Mil is a carefree guy who tends to see things in a different manner. He came from an ordinary family and has no proper training in drawing except for his daily practice. He’s main problem as an artist is that despite having been drawing for year, he still cannot find his own style. He’s talent is coming up with unique abilities for his characters.

Age: 15
Celyn came from a family of famous artists who had been well known for centuries. Her family is famous for creating realistic paintings of people and landscapes. However, Celyn is more inclined to drawings mecha and other forms of machines, much to her family’s disappointment. Celyn had tried to shift her style to their family’s style upon their disapproval. However, upon joining the Palette Contest, Celyn decided to use her mecha style and show her family that she can create just as good art without following their family’s traditional style.

Age: 11
Despite his young age, Arthur is already skilled with drawing different forms of monsters. He’s the only son of two prestigious doctors and so, he’s usually left alone on their house. His parents are very supportive of his hobby and provide him with the tools he needs. He uses the diseases that his parents cure as his inspiration for the monsters he creates. However, because he spends most of his time alone in their house with just his sketchpad and pencils to accompany him, Arthur has problems properly communicating with people. He is rather shy and awkward, but he is a real gentleman.

Age: 20
Florence trains as a nurse but she also loves to draw cute things. Despite her passion for drawing, her parents didn’t acknowledge her desire to take an art related course. Still, she kept on drawing during her free time and also gives other people sketches just to make them smile a bit. She doesn’t much have confidence in her drawing since she wasn’t able to fight for her dream when she was younger.

Color: Payne’s Grey
Age: 19
Zane came from a big but poor family. He took a scholarship to pursue his art career. He is hardworking and smart but he tends to be snappy towards people. He is very patient in drawing detailed artworks but his temper is rather short when it comes to people. He is silent most of the time but being the eldest of their family, he can be very good on giving advice to others. He is terrible when it comes to dealing with clients as he’d rather have his works be done on his own way.
